Mutual Transparency and Accountability – First Nations Engagement Sessions

Purpose and Overview of the Engagement Sessions

The Government of Canada is inviting First Nations Chief and Council, Band Managers and Finance Managers to participate in engagement sessions to share perspectives and ideas on mutual transparency and accountability.

These engagement sessions have been prompted by the Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs statement from December 15, 2015 in which she committed to work with First Nations leadership and organizations on the way forward on mutual transparency and accountability.

Engagement sessions with First Nations are scheduled across BC durring the month of June. The dialogue and outcomes will be guided by recognition of rights, respect, co-operation and partnership with First Nations.

The one day engagement sessions will run from 9am – 3pm with meals provided. Travel expenses will be covered for up to two representatives to travel to the engagement session closest to their community.

Pre-registration is required.
